While still lying down, Coai took out a piece of cardboard from her pocket. Its thickness, sheen, and texture were different from any paper Coai knew... but none of that mattered.

The girl drawn on the cardboard was smiling.

I wonder... if she's doing well.

Still lying down, Coai gazed at the drawing of the girl.

Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door, and Coai sat up.

"Wait a moment."
Coai called out as she stood up and walked towards the door.

"Is it time?"
Thinking it was the old man, Sodi, Coai spoke as she opened the door. However, a young man stood on the other side.

"Your Majesty, the village leaders have gathered. Please come to the main hall."
"Understood."

"Behold, this is the one who saved us from the humans, our king, Lord Coai."
