When I lifted the sleeping Snow's body, she smelled of alcohol as usual. And yet, I noticed her breathing was weaker than normal.

Looking at her face, from where the sound originated, I had a feeling her complexion was somewhat pale.

The anxiety I felt slightly quelled my joy, anticipation, and passion.

Koai, careful not to jostle her body, slowly walked to the side of the bed while still holding her.
Then, when it was time to let her go, I laid her down gently, careful not to give her any unnecessary jolt.

After that, Koai pulled a chair to the bedside.
For now, I decided not to touch her, but to sit in the chair a short distance away and watch over her.

It somehow felt wrong for me, with my healthy body and burning heart, to lie down and cuddle up next to her.

I sat nearby for a long time, just watching her.
Before I knew it, the sun had set.

Before the bedroom was plunged into darkness, I lit a lamp.

"Ugh, mmm..."
Perhaps because the light penetrated her eyelids, she let out a muffled groan and turned over restlessly.

That voice, so unbefitting of her usual self... and yet somehow cute, captivated Koai's body and mind completely.
