Koai rides her horse.
She rides east, ever eastward.

Occasionally stopping at a watering hole to rest her horse, Koai gallops back towards Taras Castle.

She rides through the wastelands, and after a night of riding... to the east of Pfull Castle, she sees a walled city nearby, one she hadn't stopped at on her way.
However, this time too, Koai decides to pass it by.

Time is precious.
I want to see her soon.

If I find a suitable place, maybe I'll summon her before I even get back to the castle...

As Koai gallops on, her heart warmed by this thought, a small arrow suddenly chills her.

From the south... from the direction of the walled city, an arrow flew, aimed at Koai's temple! However, its path was bent by a repulsive force, and it passed before Koai's eyes to fall to the ground.

A moment later, Koai heard the pattering sound of something else falling to the ground.
Looking down at her horse's feet, she saw the first vermilion arrow, along with other colored arrows—black, green, reddish-brown—rolling on the ground.

It seemed someone was sniping at Koai from a distance... from the direction of the walled city.

Koai dismounted and picked up one of the arrows, but she couldn't sense any magic or curses from it.
